Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arnndel, Chairman of a Select Com-
mittee, reported favorably, a bill entitled an Act to prevent
the increase of gates upon the Public Roads of Anne.Arnndel,
Prince George's and Charles counties.
Which was read a first time.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill :
A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of January ses-
sion, 1865, chapter 70, entitled an Act to authorize the Bal-
timore and Ohio Railroad Company to build a railroad from
a point on the line of its road, within the State of Maryland,
between Knoxville and the Monocacy Junction, through
Frederick and Montgomery counties to the boundary of the
District of Columbia, so as to make a direct connection with
the City of Washington, by amending and re-enacting the
fourth section of said Act.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Watkins moved that the bill be read a second time this
day, under the provisions of section 27, Article 3, of the
Constitution.
