Leave was granted to the Montgomery delegation to in-
troduce a bill to appoint two additional Justices of the
Peace for Montgomery county.

On motion of Mr. Mitchell,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill authorizing the County Commissioners of
Charles county to revise and correct any errors in the assess-
ment of the levies of Thomas J. Gardner, William H. Higgs
and Frederick Dawson, in said county.

On motion of Mr. Waikins,

Leave was granted to the Montgomery delegation to intro-
duce a bill to authorize Richard T. West to place two gates
on the public road through his farm in Montgomery county.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act making appropriations for the sup-
port of the Government for the year ending the 1st day of
January, 1871.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate and establish an In-
surance Fire Patrol for the City of Baltimore.

Which was read a first time.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to add additional sections to Article
26, of the Code of Public General Laws, as amended and
passed at January session, 1868, chapter 471.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Mr. Streett, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 41, of Article 56,
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Licenses,"
sub-title "Traders," passed January session, 1868, and to
re-enact the same so as to read as follows.

Mr. Biddle, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
Torably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and require the County
Commissioners of Cecil county to levy a sum of money to pay
the Crier and Bailiffs of the Circuit Court of said county.
