the State, and reported back the same with proposed amend-
ments, and asked to be discharged from the from the further
consideration thereof.
The Committee were then discharged and the House pro-
ceeded to the consideration of the
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out section 1.
Strike out the figure "2," after the word "section," and in-
sert the figure 1.
Strike out the word "and," before the words, "be it en-
acted ;" and after the word "enacted," insert the words : by
the General Assembly of Maryland.
Stiike out the figure "3," after the word "section," and
iasert the figure 2.
Amend the title by inserting after the word "protect,"
the words, minor operatives in ; and between the words,
"cotton" and "woolen," insert the word and, and strike out
the words, ''and other," before the word ''factories."
The amendments were severally read and adopted,
And the bill, as amended, ordered to be engrossed,
And having been engrossed,
Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
