The Speaker laid before the House the memorial of the
Board of Trade, of Baltimore city, in regard to Life Insur-
ance.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Brattan presented the petition of Joseph S, Webster
and 134 other citizens of Somerset county, against the passage
of any law to prohibit stake nets for the purpose of gilling
fish in the Wicomico river.

Which was read and referred to the Wicomico delegation
and Mr. Brattan.

Mr. Shipley presented the petition of Richard J. Worth-
ington, J. Howard McHenry, Alex. D. Brown and 400 others,
asking protection by the Legislature from damages by cattle,
swine and dogs, in Baltimore county.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
gation.

Mr. Hilton presented the petition of Rezin Hobbs, of Mont-
gomery county, for a pension, war of 1812.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Ritter presented

The petition of Hon. Wra. P. Maulsby, A. L. Delashmutt,
Elias L. Delashmutt and 442 other citizens of Frederick
county, praying the passage of the bill now pending in your
Honorable Body, providing for the opening and widening of
Carroll Creek, the extension of the taxable limits, &c., &c.

Also,

The memorial of the corporate authorities of Frederick
city, in relation to certain bills now pending before the House
of Delegates.

Also,

The petition of the Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council
of Frederick, praying the passage of certain laws therein re-
ferred to.

Which were severally read and referred to the Frederick
delegation.

Mr. Gatch presented the petition of W. Y. Day and 75
others, asking that the 11th district of Baltimore county be
ve-precincted.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
gation.

Mr. Meekins presented the following petitions
