Which was read, and

On motion of Mr. Neill,

One thousand copies ordered to be printed.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the day,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to add a new section to Article 4, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, entitled "Baltimore City," said section to
be entitled "Publication of Legal Notices."

Said bill being on its second reading,

On motion of Mr Marbury,

The further consideration thereof,

Was postponed for fifteen minutes.

On motion of Mr. Merrick, (the rules being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill entitled
an Act to repeal the sections from forty-four to fifty-five, both
inclusive, sub-title "Traders;" and the sections from sixty-
nine, both inclusive, sub-title " Spirituous or Fermented
Liquors by Retailers ;" and the sections from seventy-three to
eighty-four both inclusive ; and section eighty-six, of sub-title
" Oyster or Eating Houses," of the 56 Article of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled " Licenses," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

Said bill being upon its second reading,

Mr. Merrick submitted the following amendment :

Insert after the word "next," in second line of sub-section
2, the words : and that all licenses issued under this Act may
be assigned to a purchaser of the stock, purchasing or renting
the place of business, and shall, when so assigned, authorize
the purchaser to continue business thereunder.

Which was adopted,

And the bill as amended read a second time and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.

The House then resumed the consideration of the order of
the day, being the bill entitled an Act to add a new section to
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled " Balti-
more City," said section to be entitled " Publication of the
Laws."
