Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received a message from your Honorable Body,
inviting the Senate to meet in joint meeting in the Hall of
the House of Delegates, on Thursday, the 10th, instant, at
12 o'clock, noon, for the purpose of proceeding to the election
of a Police Commissioner for the City of Baltimore, to fill
the vacancy caused by the death of Lefever Jarrett, Esq.,
and also, to elect a Police Commissioner for the term of four
years, commencing on the 15th day of March, 1871, and con-
cur therein.

Mr. Turner moved that the bill entitled an Act to amend
the Act of 1860, chapter 265, entitled an Act to incorporate
the Consolidation Coal Company, which had been reported
favorably from the Committee on Corporations, this day, be
recommitted to said Committee.
