The bill entitled an Act to provide for the appointment of
an additional Justice of the Peace for election district No. 4,
in Harford county.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Real Estate and
Savings Bank of Baltimore.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills :

The bill entitled an Act to create an additional Justice of
the Peace for the 11th election district of Baltimore county.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Baltimore
county delegation.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to enable the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, to subscribe to the amount of one mil-
lion of dollars to the capital stock of the Valley Railroad
Company, incorporated by the State of Virginia.

Which was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Wiley,
Blake and Markland.

Also,

Joint Resolutions directing the Comptroller to settle and
adjust the claims of the State against Wm. G. Burke, late
Sheriff of Harford county.

Which were read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

Also,

Returned the Joint Resolutions.

Returning the thanks of the General Assembly to S.
Teackle Wallis, Esq., for the delivery of his Oration on the
Life and Character of the late George Peabody,

Endorsed " Passed by yeas and nays."

The bill entitled an Act to change the dividing line be-
tween the 1st and 8th election districts in Worcester county.

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

On motion of Mr. McLane,

The rules being suspended, it was

Ordered, That when the morning session of the House
shall close to-day, that it will be to take a recess until 8
o'clock this P. M., for the purpose of considering House bills
upon a second reading.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day, the House proceeded to the consideration of the bill re-
lating to Militia, the being printed bill No. 50.
