the Acts of Assembly of 1865, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3, of Article 43, of
the Code' of Public General Laws, entitled "Habeas Corpus,"
and to re-enact the same with an additional proviso.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Harrington, Chairman of the Committee on Expiring
Laws, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal saction 6 of chapter 385,
of the laws of Maryland, passed January session, 1868, en-
titled an Act to provide by law for taking and perpetuating
the evidence of the number of persons held to labor and
service in the State of Maryland, and emancipated by the
Constitution adopted in the year 1864, and by whom such
persons were so held, passed March 22d, 1867, and substi-
tute in lieu thereof the following section.

Mr. Bowlus, Chairman of the Committee on Manufactures,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 18, of Article 73,
of the Public General Laws, entitled "Penitentiary,'' and

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the benefit of the Cam-
bridge Female Academy.

Mr. McLane, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of the General
Assembly, passed in the year 1868, chapter 156, entitled an
Act to establish the Maryland Industrial School for Girls,
