Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, presented the petition of
the Trustees of Anne Arundel county Academy and others
of Anne Arundel county, asking an appropriation in aid of
said Academy.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Biddle presented the petition of Hon. H. McCullough,
Dr. H. H. Mitchell, S. B. Ford, and 60 others, asking for a
law to compel the County Commissioners of Cecil county to
make prompt payment to the Crier and Bailiffs of the Cir-
cuit Court of said county upon the presentation of their certi-
ficates of service.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil delegation.

The following bills having passed both branches of the
General Assembly, were this day submitted to his Excellency,
the Governor, for his approval:

An Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments, section
120, Article thirty. Public General Laws, entitled "Crimes
and Punishments," sub-title "Rivers."

An Act to incorporate the Antietam Railroad Company in
Washington county.

An Act for the protection of Fish and Terrapins, in the
tributaries of the Potomac river, lying in St. Mary's county,
and to regulate the time and manner of catching and taking
Fish and Terrapins, in that portion of the Potomac river,
between Cobb Point, in Charles county, and Point Lookout,
in St. Mary's county.

An Act to appropriate the sums of money therein men-
tioned to pay the claims of the State Reporter, and J. Mur-
phy & Co.

An Act to empower the Commissioners of'Wicomico county,
to appoint an additional Constable in Sharptown district,
No. 10, of said county.

An Act regulating fences in Lake's, Straights' and Draw-
bridge districts of Dorchester county.

An Act to incorporate Mount Hope Retreat, in Baltimore
county.

An Act to add an additional section to an Act passed De-
cember session, 1849, chapter 377, entitled an Act to incor-
porate a Company to make a Turnpike road from Williams-
port, in Washington county, to the Pennsylvania Line, in
the direction of Greencastle in Franklin county, State of
Pennsylvania.
