Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to-
report a bill to repeal section 18, of Article 51, of the Code
of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, relating to process of Justices of the Peace.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill providingforentering judgment on bonds in
certain cases.

On motion of Mr. Kilbourn,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to amend sections 161 and 186, of the Code
of Public General Laws, relating to tax on Mortgages, and
to amend section 2, of the Act of 1867, chapter 341, relating
to the same subject.

On motion of Mr. Myers,

Leave was granted to the Allegany delegation to introduce
a bill to repeal section 57 of Article 1, of the Public Local
Laws, ol Allegany county, in relation to Deer, and to re-
enact the same.

On motion of Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add additional sections to Article 18, of
the Code of Public General Laws.

On motion of Mr. Thomas, of Frederick,

Leave was granted to the Frederick delegation to intro-
duce a bill to provide Free Scholarships iu the Burkettsville
Female Seminary.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage :

Feb. 25th, 1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

If it be the pleasure of your Honorable Body, we propose a
Joint Assembly of the two Houses, at one-quarter betore eight
o'clock this evening, in the Hall of the House of Delegates,
hear the Eulogy of S. Teackle Wallis, Esq., on the Life and
Character of George Peabody.
