And the Sergeant-at-Arms proceeded to notify the absent
members to give their attendance.

After an absence of twenty minutes.

The Sergeant-at-Arms returned, and reported that he had
notified all the absent members in the city, being fourteen in
number, to give their attendance, and had brought them be-
fore the Bar of the House.

On motion of Mr. White,

All further proceeding under the call were dispensed
with.

The Speaker laid before the House the memorial of the
Board of Trade of the City of Baltimore, praying the estab-
lishment of an Insurance Department to overlook all life In-
surance Companies.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

county, in response to an order of the House.

Mr. Wilmer presented the petition of Rev. S. T. Gardner
for reimbursement of substitute money, which he was erro-
neously compelled to pay in Maryland, while a citizen of
Delaware.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Gatch presented the petition of W. Berryman, Jesse
Gore, George Shipley, A. A. Harryman and 250 others,
asking that no law be passed to prevent stock from running
at large in Baltimore county.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county
delegation.
