434 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 18,

"Almshouse," and to repeal seulions 10 and 20 of said Article,
and re-enact the same with amendments.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 50 of Article 9, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Charles county,"
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," and re-enact
the following in lieu thereof.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills :

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2 of Article 49, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Joint Obligations and
Joint Tenancy," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committiee
on the Judiciary.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Potomac and Pied-
mont Coal and Railroad Company with power and authority
for carrying on the mining of coal, the building of furnaces,
the burning of brick, and for the transportation of coal and
other products of its mines and property to market, and dis-
posing of the same.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Liberty Branch
Railroad Company.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter
234, relating to the annual donation of five hundred dollars
to the West Nottingham Academy, in Cecil county.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Cecil dele-
gation.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled an Act to
repeal section 38, of Article 22, of the Code of Public Local
Laws for Worcester county, passed at the January session,
1868.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Worcester
delegation and Mr. Lankford.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to enlarge the powers of the Com-
missioners of Washington county, under Article 21, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Washington County,"
under the head of "County Commissioners," by adding
thereto the following sub-section.
