420 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 18,

The petition of citizens of Talbot county, asking the pas-
sage of an Act to open Kent Narrows to navigation.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Hammond, Hard-
castle, of Talbot, and Thomas.

Mr. Lankford presented the petition of 59 citizens of Law-
son's District, of Somerset county, for a prohibitory liquor
law.

Which was read and referred to the Somerset delegation
and Mr. Dennis.

Mr. Biddle presented the petition of W. P. Colvin, George
A. Ford and 53 others, against, any law to prevent Pike
Splashing in Cecil and Kent counties.

Which was read and referred to the Kent delegation and
Mr. Biddle.

Mr. Ritter presented the petition of Sam'l Hinks, of Fred-
erick county, praying the passage of a law declaring the law
of damage feasant to be in foroe in this State, and also that
the common law which is in force in this State, requires
every owner of stock to keep them within his own enclosures.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Purnell presented the petition of Henry T. Ovely and
other citizens of Worcester county, praying for a law pro-
tecting the oyster beds in said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Purnell, Dennis,
and Lankford.

Mr. Hoblibzell submitted the following order :

Ordered, That when the House adjourns to-day it stands
adjourned until Monday, 12 M., February 21, 1870.

Which was read.

Mr. Webb moved to lay the order on the table.
