400 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 17,

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Turner submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Reports of the County Commissioners, in
obedience to an order of this House, adopted January 19th,
be printed in document form, for the use of this House, as
soon as all the reports shall have been received.

Which was read.

Mr. Dennis submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Inspections inquire what
abases exist in the inspection of grain, lumber, &c.; that said
Committee report to this House what further legislation is
necessary to protect the agricultural interests of the State,
and the said Committee are hereby authorized to send for
persons and papers.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Harrington submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Edward A. Marshall, Keeper of Committee
Rooms, have leave of absence for six days.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot, submitted the following order :

Ordered, That owing to the severe illness of Mr. Brown,
which incapacitates him from the discharge of his duties as a
member of this House, an additional member be added to the
Committee on Retrenchment of County Expenses.

Which was adopted, and

Mr. Brattan appointed on said Committee.

Mr. Hopkins submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted Henry Owings
of S., until Wednesday next, to attend to important business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hopkins submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Messrs. Baldwin, McLane and Hopkins, to
whom leave was granted to introduce a bill to extend the
provision of chapter 413, of 1868, entitled "Licenses," so as
to embrace the several counties within this State, be dis-
charged from the further consideration of the subject.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Garey submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Dr. A, Hardcastle have leave of absence
until Wednesday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Chapman submitted the following order:
