said parties were entitled to liens on said vessel for
their said claims, and to have said vessel sold in
satisfaction thereof; but waived such remedy,
and delivered such vessel to the officers of the State
by whom she is at present used in enforcing the
laws, and collecting the revenue of the State; and
whereas, it is just and proper that such claims be
paid, therefore,

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be, and he
hereby is authorized and directed to draw his war-
rants for an amount not exceeding the sum of
seven thousand dollars upon the Treasurer, paya-
ble to the order of Lewis Wagner, Randolph,
Bro. & Co., William C. Wetherall, C. Dugan &
Co., James H. King, Thomas Clark & Bro., R.
Wilkins, J. Cromwell, J. G. Ramsey & Co., J.
Bumbeck, D. Rogers, Adam Nagle, Joseph Os-
burne, and such others as may be certified to said
Comptroller by said Wrn. F. Shaw & Co., as en-
titled to payment on said account, in payment of
their respective claims for work done, and mate-
rials furnished in the construction of said vessel,
said accounts to be certified on oath by said claim-
ants, and approved by said William F. Shaw &
Co , and if the said amount is not sufficient to pay

all said bills in full, then is shall be appropri-
ate pro rota for the purpose; provided, that if
there shall remain any balance after the payment
of the claims so certified and approved, out of the
said sum of seven thousand dollars, then the Comp-
troller shall draw his warrant upon the Treasurer
in favor William F. Shaw & Co., for the payment
to them of the balance so remaining.

Proviso,

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said sum
of seven thousand dollars, be and the same is here-
by appropriated for the purpose of carrying into
effect the provisions of this Act.

Appropriation

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws heretofore passed, which are inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

Inconsistent
repealed.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after its passage.
