Submit to
voters.

the Mayor and Common Council of Manchester,
there may be written or printed on the ballots of
the legal and qualified voters at said election the
words, For Railroad Subscription, or, Against
Railroad Subscription, and if a majority of the
ballots cast shall contain the words, For Railroad
Subscription, then this Act shall become operative
and binding, but if a majority of said ballots shall
contain the words, Against Railroad Subscription,
this Act shall be void and of no effect, and the
judges of said municipal election shall return to
the Mayor and Common Council of Manchester the
number of votes cast for railroad subscription, and
against railroad subscription, respectively, and the
said Mayor and Common Council shall, by their
proclamation, announce the result thereof.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 475.
|
|
AN ACT to appropriate the sum of seven thousand
dollars, to pay the various Mechanics and others
the amounts due them for work and labor done,
and materials furnished for the construction of
an Iron Steam Vessel for the State of Maryland,
for the use of the Oyster Police Force.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, An Iron Steam Vessel has been con-
structed for and delivered to the State of Maryland
for the use of the State Oyster Police Force; and
whereas, there remains due and unpaid on account
of such vessel to various persons, sundry large
sums of money, to wit: to Wm. F. Shaw & Co.,
Lewis Wagner, Randolph, Bro. & Co., Wm. C.
Wetherall, C. Dugan & Co., Jas. H. King, Thos.
Clark & Bro., R. Wilkins, J. Cromwell, J. G.
Ramsey & Co., J. Bumbeck, D. Rogers, Adam
Nagle, Jos. Osburns and others, mechanics and
persons who have furnished material or labor for
the construction of said vessel; and whereas, the
