Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the drivers of
carriages and vehicles of all kinds, shall keep their
horses and vehicles on the right hand side of said
road, leaving the other side of the road clear and
free for other vehicles, to pass and repass, and if
any driver shall offend against this provision, he
shall forfeit and pay, not exceeding ten dollars, to
any person who shall be obstructed in his passage,
the same to be recovered as in debt with costs be-
fore any Justice of the Peace of the county wherein
the offence may occur.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That the County
Commissioners of Montgomery and Howard coun-
ties, subject to the provisions of Article three,
Section fifty-four of the Constitution of Maryland,
be and they are hereby authorized in their discre-
tion to subscribe to the capital stock of said Turn-
pike Company, provided the amount subscribed by
either county shall not exceed the sum of ten
thousand dollars.

scribe.

Sec. 13 And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act contained shall be so construed as to authorize
said Company, its agents or officers to issue any
scrip or bank note, or exercise any banking privi-
leges.

Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That the Legislature
reserves to itself the right to change, alter or
amend this Act of incorporation at pleasure.

Sec. 15. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 456.

 

AN ACT to prohibit Stock running at large in
and around Pikesville, in Baltimore County.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for stock
of any kind to go at large in Pikesville, Baltimore
County, nor within a circuit of two miles, taking
the eight mile stone as the central point.
