St. Mary's Orphan Asylum, four hundred dollars;
to the Union Orphan's Asylum, four hundred dol-
lars; to the Maryland Institute for Promotion
of Mechanic Arts, three thousand dollars; to the
Manual Labor School, four hundred dollars; and
to the Home for Friendless Children on the East-
ern Shore of Maryland, to be erected at or near
Easton, five thousand dollars.

For the payment of the interest on the public
debt of this State, that is to say, the interest fall-
ing due quarterly on the currency debt, the inter-
est on the bounty loan outstanding, and the inter-
est on the sterling debt falling due semi-annually
and payable in London, including the cost of ex-
change, remittance and commissions, eight hun-
dred and twenty-five thousand dollars; for the pay-
ment of the interest on the bonds of the Annapolis
and Elk Ridge Railroad Company, issued in eigh-
dred and forty-six and eighteen hundred and sixty-
four, five hundred and thirty dollars.

To the night watchman of the public buildings,
six hundred dollars; to the person employed to
take care of the public buildings, five hundred and
forty dollars; to the keeper of the steam house and
Record Office furnace, five hundred and forty dol-
lars; to the assistant keeper of the steam house and
Record Office furnace, five hundred and forty dol-
lars; to the person employed to attend to the rooms
of the Court of Appeals, one hundred dollars; to a
messenger for the Governor, seven hundred dol-
lars; for the salary of the State Vaccine Agent,
six hundred dollars; for the expense of distributing
the Maryland Reports, fifty dollars; for repairing
the roof of the State House, five hundred dollars,
to be expended under the direction of Augustus
Gassaway, Secretary of the Senate; for repairs and
painting of the interior of the State House, to be
expended under the direction of Augustus Gassa-
way, Secretary to the Senate, fifteen hundred dol-
lars; for completing a bronze statue of Chief Jus-
tice Taney, to be erected in front of the State
House, in addition to the appropriation contained
in the Act of eighteen hundred and sixty-seven,
