dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Turner, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to provide for tho erection of a
Bridge over Jones' Falls, at Woodbury, in Baltimore county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Crawford, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to amend'the Public General Laws,
passed January session, 1865, chapter 31, so as to exempt
Wicomico county from the effect of the second section thereof,
so far as relates to the publication of the Local Laws.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Gatch, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to provide for the erection of a
Bridge over the Gunpowder River, at Cromwell's Ford, in
Baltimore county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Owens, Chairman of a' Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal Article 8, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland, from section
114 to 133 inclusive, title "Cecil county," sub-title "North
East," and re-enact the same with amendments.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 50 of Aiticle 9, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Charles county,"
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," and re-
enact the following in lieu thereof.

Which, was read a first time.

Mr. Kilbourn, Chairman on the part of the House, of the
Joint Select Committee appointed to attend the obsequies of
the late George Peabody, submitted the following

REPORT.

The Joint Committee appointed to attend in person the
obsequies of the late George Peabody, beg respectfully to
report to the General Assembly, that on Monday, January
31st, they assembled in Boston, and proceeded together, on
that day, to the City of Portland,
