Damages.

of all charges arising from such distress, appraise-
ment and pale, and also such damages as may have
been sustained by such distrainer to he ascertained
by the appraisers of the animals distrained at the
time of the appraisement thereof, leaving the over-
plus, if any, in the hands of the sheriff or consta-
ble for the owner's use.

CHAPTER 404.

AN ACT to authorize and require the Commis-
sioners of Cecil County to levy a sum of money
to pay the Crier and Bailiff of the Circuit Court
of said County.
|
Pay Crier and
Bailiff.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Cecil County be and they hereby are required to
levy in advance a sum of money sufficient to pay
the Crier and Bailiffs of the Circuit Court of Cecil
county, and the said County Commissioners shall
pay said Crier and Bailiff upon the presentation
of the certificate of the Clerk of said Court of their
attendance and service.

CHAPTER 405.

AN ACT to protect the "Craighill Channel," at
the mouth of the Patapsco river.
|
Not to catch
oysters.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall not he lawful for any
person or persons to rake, drag or dredge for oys-
ters within five hundred yards of either edge of
the new channel at the mouth of Patapsco river,
known as the "Craighill Channel," extending
from the Seven Foot Knoll to the mouth of Magothy
river.
