penalty as the said Commissioners may direct, and
with sureties to be by them approved, for the
faithful performance of his duties as Bailiff, and
for the payment to the said Commissioners, or
their agent, of all fines and other moneys received
or collected by him in said capacity, and the said
bond shall he recorded in the office of the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Worcester County.

 

Sec. 147. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners shall erect lamps and lamp-posts at
such places in said town as they may think proper,
and shall provide for lighting said lamps, as well
as those already erected.

Sub-Section 1. The said Commissioners may
purchase a fire engine for the use of said town, by
and with the consent of a majority of the legal
voters of said town, to be ascertained by an elec-
tion to be called by the said Commissioners for
that special purpose, of which notice shall be given
by public notices and by insertion for at least two
weeks before said election in a newspaper printed
in said town.

Sub-Section 2. The said Commissioners shall
have power to extend or otherwise change the
limits of said town whenever they shall deem it
expedient.

Sub-Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said
Commissioners may pass all ordinances necessary
to give effect and operation to the powers vested
in them.

Sub-Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That all ordi-
nances enacted by the said Commissioners shall be
immediately made public, either through some
newspaper printed in Snow Hill or by printed
handbills posted in not less than five conspicuous
places in said town.

Sub-Sec. And be it enacted, That the seven
Commissioners now in office shall remain and con-
tinue to be Commissioners of Snow Hill until the
first election under this Act, and until their suc-
cessors are elected and qualified.
