And be it Resolved, That the Governor is hereby author-
ized to employ counsel to aid the Attorney General in the
prosecution of the said proceedings.

Which were read a first time.

On motion of Mr. Merrick, (the rules being suspended,)

The vote by which the order was this morning adopted,
requiring the House to meet at 12 o'clock, noon, instead of
11 o'clock, as heretofore,

Was reconsidered.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
order,

Mr. Merrick submitted the following amendment:
Add at the end thereof, the following:

Provided, That this order shall not go into effect until the
vote shall have been taken upon the final passage of the Reso-
lutions now before the House.

The amendment was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the order as amended, it,
was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Webb,

At 2 1/4 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned until to-morrow
morning at 11 o'clock.
