the said Commissioners, that the total amount of
three-fifths subscribed for by private stockholders,
as provided by the Act of eighteen hundred and
sixty-eight, Chapter three hundred and fifty-three,
has been fully and entirely paid up, and also a
resolution of the said Board of Stockholders,
stating their belief that the estimate made by the
engineer, or persons employed to calculate the cost
of the road, will be sufficient to complete the entire
road according to the terms of the charter.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 290.

AN ACT supplementary to An Act, entitled "An
Act to Incorporate the Maryland and Delaware
Railroad Company," passed January Session,
eighteen hundred and fifty-four, Chapter two
hundred and seventy-four.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Maryland and Delaware
Railroad Company be and they are hereby au-
thorized to locate and construct a Branch Road
from some point in Caroline or Talbot County,
and to run through Caroline and Dorchester Coun-
ties, so as to connect with the Dorchester and Del-
aware Railroad at such point as may be deemed
most advisable to establish the most direct rail-
road connection with the Counties of Somerset,
Wicomico and Worcester.

branch road.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the assent of the
General Assembly of Maryland is hereby granted
to any change in the location of the Maryland and
Delaware Railroad, south of the town of Easton,
that the President and Board of Directors of said
Company may deem advisable.
