The Speaker laid before the House the Report of the Com-
missioners of Worcester county, showing the amount paid
for publication of Registers' notices and lists of registered
voters

Also,

The Report of the Commissioners of Harford county, in re-
sponse to an order of the House.
Also,

The communication of the Clerk to County Commissioners
of Wicomico county on county expenses.
Also,
Copies of accounts levied in 186y, in Howard county.

Which were severally read and referred to the Select Com-
mittee on Retrenchment of County Expenses.

Also,

The Report of the Baltimore and Harford Turnpike Com-
pany.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Also,

A communication from the President of the State Hospital
for the Insane.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Merrick presented the petition of citizens of Carroll
county, praying to annex part of Carroll county to Howard
county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Ovvings presented the petition of W. B. Howes and
150 other citizens of Calvert county, asking the Legislature
to change the place for holding elections in tbn 3rd district
in said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Owings, Duke and
Kilbourn.
