on the Treasurer to pay to the order of Albert Sig-
mund the sum of two hundred and four dollars,
erroneously paid into the State Treasury, as per
certificate of the Governor and Comptroller.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 246.

AN ACT to amend an Act entitled An Act to in-
corporate the Equitable Gas Light Company of
Baltimore City, passed at January Session eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-seven, Chapter one hun-
dred and thirty-two.

Charter
amended as to
Directors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Act entitled "An Act to
incorporate the Equitable Gas Light Company of
Baltimore City," passed at January session eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-seven, Chapter one hun-
dred and thirty-two, be and the same is hereby
amended so as to allow and authorize the stock-
holders of the said Company at its next regular
meeting for the election of Directors, to reduce the
number of Directors of the said Company by the
election of not less than five or more than nine
Directors to serve as at present.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the sixth Section
of the original Act to which this Act is an amend-
ment be and the same is hereby so amended as to
substitute the word and number "ten" instead of
the word and number "thirty" after the words
notice of, &c., in the fourth printed line of said
section.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
