CHAPTEE 235.
AN ACT to prevent stationary or permanent weirs
or hedges being placed in the Western Branch
of the Patuxent River, and on the Eastern
Branch of the Potomac River and its tributaries.

hedges.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That all stationary or permanent
weirs or hedges in the Western Branch of the
Patuxeut River, or on the Eastern Branch of the
Potomac River and its tributaries in Prince George's
County, are declared nuisances, and may be abated
as such by any person.

Penalty.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That if any person
shall place or make any stationary or permanent
weir or hedge in the said branches, or their tribu-
taries, contrary to the provisions of the preceding
section, he shall forfeit the sum of twenty-five dol-
lars, to be recovered before any Justice of the Peace
of said county, one-half to the informer or person
who may sue for the same, the other half to be paid

to the Justice of the Peace, and by him paid to the
School Commissioners of said county for the use of
the public school.

Fines.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That if any person
shall fish any such weir or hedge, he shall for every
offence forfeit the sum of fifteen dollars, to be re-
covered and applied as in the preceding section.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 236.
AN ACT to refund to John D. Bowling and John
Bowling, of Prince George's County, moneys
erroneously paid by them to Inspectors of To-
bacco in Baltimore City for outage and storeage.
