Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors, or a majority of them, shall after
two weeks notice thereof have the power to call for

at such times and in, such amounts as they may
deem necessary, and should any subscriber fail or
refuse to pay any part of his subscriptions, or in-
stallment thus demanded, after sixty days from
the expiration of said notice, the said Company
shall he entitled to receive, sue for and demand the

debts and claims are recoverable by law; provided,
that no installment so demanded shall exceed one-
fourth the value of the share subscribed, to appoint
all agents and officers to manage the affairs of the

and privileges to erect wharves, causeways, dams,
buildings, vessels, machinery, and works necessary
for all the aforementioned purposes of this Act, to

rights in the bed or on the borders of said river for
the use and occupation of the same in making said
channel, or canal and wharves, and for the protec-

in case they cannot agree, or if the owner or own-
ers thereof shall be a feme covert, under age, non
compos mentis, or absent, on application to a Jus-
tice of the Peace for Wicomico County, he shall
issue his warrant under his hand and seal, directed

mon a jury of twenty competent and disinterested
men, inhabitants of Wicomico County, to meet on
the land or at the water to be valued on a day that
shall be named in said warrant, not less than ten
