Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That if any person
or persons shall injure the works of this corpora-
tion, they shall forfeit and pay the damages sus-
tained therefrom, to be recovered, with costs of
suit, in the name of saiil corporation, before any
Court or Justice of the Peace having cognizance
thereof.

contained shall be construed to give to the said
Company any banking privileges, and the General
Assembly hereby reserves the right to alter, amend

CHAPTER 215.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for tran-
scribing, indexing, re-binding Records, preserv-
papers, and for preparing a digest of the laws,
and rules of the Land Office.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the sum of four thousand dol-
lars be appropriated for the purpose of transcrib-
ing, re-binding, indexing records, preserving papers
in the Chancery and Land Office, as required for
their preservation, transcribing, re-binding and in-
dexing.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Commissioner
of the Land Office shall be authorized and em-
powered to select some competent person to make
an abstract of the different decisions that we.re made
