On motion of Mr. Brown,

The further consideration of the same was postponed until
to-morrow, the 9th instant.

The bill entitled an Act to amend the Public Local Laws
of Kent county, title "Chestertown," by repealing section-
35, and to re-enact the same as amended,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal so much of section 12,
chapter 267, of the Act passed March, 1860, entitled an Act
to incorporate a company to open, in part, and improve the
road from Frederick city, in Frederick county, to the Spout
Spring, &c., as relates to rates of toll, and enact the follow-
ing,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a,
third reaing.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to endorse the mortgage bonds of the
Western Maryland Railroad Company, to the amount of
fourteen hundred thousand dollars, as provided by an ordi-
nance of said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, entitled
an ordinance to authorize the endorsement or guarantee by
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, of the mortgage
bonds of the Western Maryland Railroad Company, and to-
provide a sinking fund in connection therewith, approved
January 26th, 1870,

Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as.
follows :
