alter paying the debts of said district, shall be ex-
pended by the County Commissioners on the roads
and bridges of said district from which it was col-
lected; provided, however, the local Board of Super-
visors of the first district, be, and they are hereby

collect the tax for keeping the roads and bridges in
the said district in repair, for the space of two
years from the first day of March, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy, and to do all other acts and
things, as provided for, in the original Act provid-
ing for the repairs of roads and bridges in said
district; provided, that no moneys levied or collected
by the County Commissioners for road and bridge
purposes from the other districts in the county

shall be expended in said first election district, for
roads and bridges, while said first district is ex-
empted from the provisions of the General Road
law passed at the January session of eighteen hun-
dred and seventy.
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Boards
of Road Supervisors as above referred to in the
first, second, and third Sections of this Act be, and

they are, hereby authorized to proceed to collect
said taxes which have been heretofore levied by the
local Boards of said Road Supervisors within sixty
days after the provisions of this Act, shall have
been published in the two newspapers, published
at Towsontown, in Baltimore County, by the Col- .
lectors appointed by the several local Boards of
Road Supervisors in the several districts of said
county, in the same manner as taxes are now col-
lected in Baltimore County; and all the expenses

attending the collection of taxes, in the publica-
tion, or publishing of this Act, shall be paid by
the Road Supervisors out of the money collected
by them from taxes, and the County Commission-
ers of Baltimore County are hereby required to
publish this Act, in the county paper of Baltimore
County, and by posting at least five handbills in
each election district of said County, and all ex-
penses of publishing the same shall be paid out of
the taxes collected by the Road Supervisors; pro-
vided, however, that the local Boards of the first
and thirteenth districts, be, and they are here-
by authorized and empowered to carry out and
