Sec. 5. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from its passage. Approved March 31, 1S70.		In force.
CHAPTER 146.
AN ACT to prohibit "Stock" running at large in and around Catonsville in Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it shall not he lawful for stock of any kind to go at large in Catonsville, Baltimore County, nor within a circuit of two miles, taking J. C. Sullivan & Co.'s Store as the central point.	Stock not to go at large.
Sec. 2. And be if, enacted, That it shall be law- ful for any citizen to take up and impound any horse, mule, horned cattle or swine which may be found going at large, and any person so taking up and impounding shall notify a Justice of the Peace resident within said described limits, who shall give notice of said impounding by advertisement set up at Sullivan's Store, describing the stock so impounded, and that the same will be sold at pub- lic auction at some public place within said limits	Take up and impound for trespass.
within four days; Provided, that if the owner of any stock impounded under this Act shall prove to the satisfaction of the Justice of the Peace that said stock did not go at large from negligence or want of care on his part, and that due diligence	Proviso.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That of all moneys arising from the execution of this Act, the Justice of the Peace shall collect and pay to the party tak- ing up and impounding said stock a fair compen- sation for his services, and the balance to the	Justice of the Peace to col- lect and pay damage.
