Powers.

sons capable in law to sue and be sued, plead and
be impleaded, answer and be answered unto, and
issue all legal process, in any Court of law, or
equity, or before any Judge, officer, or other per-
son, or persons whatever within the State of Mary-
land, or elsewhere, and to purchase, take, hold
and enjoy to and for themselves and their succes-
sors, any estate or interest whatever in lands, chat-
tels, annuities, rents, bank stock, registered debts,
public or private securities, or other real or per-
sonal property within or without the State, by
deed, assignment, devise, bequest, or other mode

Transfer.

of conveyance, or transfer of, or from any person,
or persons, bodies politic, or corporate, having
legal capacity to make such transfer, or convey-
ance, and the same at their pleasure to improve
lease, rent, incurnber, dispose of, or aliene in such
manner, as they may judge most conducive to the
benevolent purposes of said society; provided, that
the entire income of such property, or estate shall
not exceed twenty thousand dollars per annum.

Sec. 3. And lie it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Emmlttsburg G-as
Light Company.
|
Corporation.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Daniel G. Adelsberger, Pde
Murguiondo, Isaac Annan, Isaac Hyder, Detrick
Zeck, James W. Eichelberger, James A. Elder,
Brien O'Donnell, I. P. Harris, John Wills, and
all such persons as shall associate with them by
becoming stockholders in the manner hereinafter
provided, their successors and assigns are hereby
made and constituted a body politic and corporate
by the name, style and title of the Emmittsburg
Gas Light Company, and by that name shall have
perpetual succession, and shall be capable in law
to sue and be sued, to plead and be impleaded, to
