CHAPTER 102.

AN ACT to amend An Act, entitled An Act to
incorporate the Home Missionary Society of the
Maryland Annual Conference of the Methodist
Protestant Church, passed at December Session,
eighteen hundred and sixty, chapter thirty-five.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section Second of said Act, be
and the same is hereby repealed, and the following
enacted in lieu thereof; ,

Repealed and
re-enacted.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
of sending and supporting Ministers of the Gospel
as Home Missionaries, within the bounds of the
Maryland Annual Conference of the Methodist
Protestant Church. The Home Missionary Society
of said Conference, incorporated by this Act, is
hereby made able and capable in law to have, hold,
purchase, receive, possess, enjoy and retain to them
and their successors, any estate, or interest what-
ever in lands, chattels, annuities, rents, bank
stock, registered debts, public or private securi-
ties, or other real, or personal property within or
without the State, by deed, assignment, devise,
bequest, or other mode of conveyance, or transfer
of it from any person or persons, bodies politic, or

corporate, having legal capability to make such
transfer or conveyance, and the same, at their
pleasure to improve, lease, rent, incumber, dispose
of or aliene in such manner as they may judge
most conducive to the benevolent purposes of said
Society; Provided, that the annual income of such
property or estate shall not exceed twenty thou-
sand dollars.

Convey.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.
