presence of a quorum necessary for such election.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 30.

 

AN ACT for the relief of the heirs and devisees
of George Baily, of Baltimore City, deceased.

Appeal Tax
Court to cor-
rect error.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Appeal Tax Court of the
city of Baltimore be, and is hereby authorized to
correct the errors in assessment and valuation in
the land and premises of the late George Baily, of
said city of Baltimore, deceased, which were de-
vised by him to his wife, for life, with remainder
over to his children, erroneously assessed under the
Act of Assembly of eighteen hundred and sixty-
six, Chapter one hundred and fifty-seven, and the
said Appeal Tax Court is hereby empowered to ad-
just the errors in the aforesaid assessment.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved February 19, 1870.

 

CHAPTER 31.

 

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
John L. Smith, tax collector for Talbot County,
for over payment into the Treasury for the year
eighteen hundred and sixty-seven.

Comptroller
to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is
hereby directed to issue his warrant upon the
Treasurer to pay John L. Smith thirty-five dollars
