CHAPTER 16.
AN ACT to repeal Section three of Chapter two
hundred and forty-six, passed at the January
Session, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, en-
titled, " an Act to aid in the establishment of a
Hospital in connection with the Washington
University of Baltimore, and to appropriate
money for the same," and to re-enact the same
to read as follows ;

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section three, of Chapter two
hundred and forty-six, passed at the January Ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, entitled
" an Act to aid in the establishment of a Hospital
in connection with the Washington University of
Baltimore," be and the same is hereby repealed,
and the said third Section be re-enacted to read as
follows ;

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the sum of
twenty-five hundred dollars be and the same is
hereby appropriated for the year eighteen hundred
and seventy, and a like amount for the year eigh'teen
hundred and seventy-one, and that the said payment
shall he made by the Treasurer, upon the warrant of
the Comptroller of the State of Maryland, into the
hands of the executive officer of the faculty of
Washington University, upon the production by
him of a certificate from the Board of Visitors
setting forth the facts that the officers in charge of
said Hospital are prepared to receive and to treat,
without any charge whatsoever, one patient from
each County in the State of Maryland and Legis-
lative District of the city of Baltimore, and, also,
the said faculty are prepared to receive and to edu-
cate, without charge, save for matriculation, dis-
section and graduation fees, one student from each
Senatorial District of this State, to be recommended
by the Senator of the County and Legislative Dis-
trict of the city of Baltimore, from which the stu-
dent or patient shall be received.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
