On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The Senate refused to advise and consent to the nomination.
of James S. B. Hammett as Justice of the Peace for the
second district of St. Mary's county.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The Senate advised and consented to the appointment or
Charles Camalier, Joseph F. Morgan, Zacheus Tippett and
Robert H. Wathen as Justices of the Peace for the third dis-
trict of St. Mary's county, agreeably to the nominations of
the 17th inst.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The Senate advised and consented to the appointment of
R. Johnson Colton; Mark B. Chum and Thomas H. Fowler
as Justices of the Peace for the fourth district of St. Mary's
county, agreeably to the nominations of the 17th February
inst.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The Senate refused to advise and consent to the nomination
of John E. Mattingly as Justice of the Peace for the fourth.
district of St. Mary's county.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The Senate advised and consented to the appointment of
Henry G. Adams, George N. Alvey and Philip Harrison as
Justices of the Peace fur the fifth district of St. Mary's
county, agreeably to the nominations of the 17 February inst.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The Senate refused to advise and consent to the appointment
of James T. King as Justice of the Peace for the sixth district
of St. Mary's county.

On motion by Maddox,

The Senate advised and consented to the appointment of
Andrew M. Garner and Henry C. Graves as Justices of the
Peace for the 6th district of St. Mary's county, agreeably to
the nominations of the 17th February, instant.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The Senate advised and consented to the appointment
of the following named persons as Officers of Registration
for St, Mary's county: 2d district, William C. Abell; 3d
district, Stephen Foxwell; 4th district, R. Thomas Barber;
6th district, Stephen Jones, agreeably to the nominations of
the 17th February, instant.
