Dear Sir :—The following order passed the House of Dele-
gates on the 25th ultimo, to wit :

"Ordered, That the Comptroller be requested to make an
exhibit to this House of all monies collected for Public
Schools, and the amount distributed to each county since the
passage of the recent School Law, to January 1, 1870"—was
duly received, and in reply I beg leave to state that there has
been received into the Treasury since March 30th, 1868, the
date of the approval of the "recent School Law," to the
credit of the Public School Tax, (the account referred to, as I
am informed by the offerer of the order,) to January 1st,
1870, six hundred and ninety-nine thousand two hundred
and five ($699,205.84) dollars, and there has been distributed
to the several counties and Baltimore city, six hundred and
ninety-one thousand and seventy-eight (691,078.97) dollars
as follows, to wit:
