A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the American White
Lead Company.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay
the claim of Wm. Black for the purchase of a lot of ground
and erection of a stable and carriage house thereon for the
use of the Governor of the State.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mitte on Finance.

A bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act passed at
the January session, 1868, chapter 363, restricting the
powers of the County Commissioners of Howard county in
issuing the bonds of the county in aid of Turnpike Com-
panies.

Which was read the first time and. referred to the Senators
from Howard, Allegany and Cecil counties.

Mr. Sellman submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

April 1,1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return to the.
Senate for further consideration the bill entitled an Act to
authorize the Governor to appoint an additional Justice of
the Peace for the 4th and 5th districts of Montgomery county.

By order,
A. GASSAWAY,
Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

On motion by Mr. Clarke, it was

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourn to-night, it ad-
journ to meet at 9 o'clock to-morrow morning, in order to
get through, with the business now before the Senate.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1868,
chapter 294, entitled an Act to add a new Article to the Code
of Public General Laws, entitled " Domestic Insurance Com-
panies," providing for annual reports, &c., and re-enact the
same with amendments, reported, it without amendment.

Said bill was then read, the second time.

Mr. Earle, from the same Committee, to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sums of
