1870.] OF THE SENATE. 695

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing bills:

A bill entitled an Act to prevent the sale of spirituous or
fermented liquors on Tilghman's Island, Talbot county, or
within three miles thereof.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Sena-
tors from Talbot, Queen Anne's and Worcester counties.

A bill entitled an Act to provide for maintaining and
keeping in repair the public roads of Prince George's county.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Senators
from Prince George's, St. Mary's and Anne Arundel coun-
ties.

And returned the Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize
Joshua Motter and Samuel Motter, or either of them, to con-
vey all the right, title, interest and claim of the German
Reformed Congregation at Emmittsburg, in Frederick
county, in and to the Elias Church property, to Evangelical
Lutheran Congregation,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also, returned the State bill entitled an Act to repeal an
Act passed January session, 1868, chapter 104, appropriating
a sum of money to remove the Confederate dead at Antietam
National Cemetery, and in lieu thereof to enact the follow-
ing

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays with the proposed
amendment."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add at the end of section 2—"But the power and light are
hereby given to the Trustees appointed under this Act, to
agree with any Cemetery Association now established within
one mile of Hagerstown, for the purchase or occupation of so
much of their land as may be necessary to carry out the ob-
jects and purposes of this Act."

And the bill passed by yeas and nays, as follows:
