On motion by Mr. Henkle,

The Senate was called, and the Sergeant-at-Arms directed
to wait upon absent Senators and inform them that their at-
tendance was required in the Senate Chamber.
On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment :

Chapter 12, section 8, line 1, strike out the word "8,000,"
and insert 9,500.

Which was read and adopted by yeas and nays, as follows:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add as chapter 13, Aids and Encouragement to Educa-
tion.

Sec. 1, Educational information and instruction shall be
issued to the teachers and others by the Principal of the State
Normal School, through the School Journal, selected by the
State School Commissioners for the School House Library.
