In chapter 10, section 3, line 5, after the word "pupil,"
insert: on account of pecuniary inability.

Was read and adopted.
Mr. Compton submitted the following amendment:

In chapter 10, section 3, line 8, of the printed bill, strike-
out all after the word "books."
Was read and adopted.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendments:
In chapter 11, section 1; after the word "qualified," in,
line 4, insert: under the sanction of the Board at its next-
meeting.

In chapter II, section 5, strike out all after the word
"Teachers," in second line, to the word: "of," in the same line
and insert; at each quarterly meeting, and at such other times
as the Board may direct.

Which were read and adopted.
Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment:

Amend section 5, by adding the following: No Examiner
shall charge any fee for the issuing of certificates to teachers,
and if any Examiner shall be found getting, or charging, or
receiving any fee or reward, directly or indirectly, for issuing
any certificate to a teacher, he shall be dismissed from office.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment:

Chapter 11, line 3, printed, after the word "Commission-
ers," insert: or one or more of the District School Commis-
sioners.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendment:

Page 25, chapter 12, section 1, insert in line 7, after the
words "per annum," the Principal of the Normal School
shall not vote upon the subject of his appointment or removal.

Chapter 12, section 8, line 1, strike out the word "eight, "
and insert in lieu thereof the word: ten.
