The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

Present at roll call, the following Senators :
Messrs. President, Biggs, Carroll, Clarke, Earle, Fields,
Grove, Henkle, Henry, Hyland, Jump, Kimmel, Maddox,
Malone, Miller, Parker, Sellman, Snyder, Spates, Timmons,
Welch and Wilson—22. The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.
Mr. Parker presented, the petition of sundry citizens of
Calvert county against the passage of the Act authorizing
the County Commissioners of said county to issue the bonds
of said county in aid of the Baltimore and Drum Point Rail-
road. Which was read. and referred, to the Committee on Finance.
Mr. Maddox, from the Committee on Elections, submitted.

REPORT. The undersigned. Committee of Elections, to examine and
report upon the election and qualifications of the members to
the Senate of Maryland, beg leave to report that they have
discharged the duty assigned to them. by examining the re-
turns of the election held on the 2nd. day of November, in.
the year 1869, in the several counties of the State, and in
the several Legislative Districts of Baltimore city, and
have ascertained and report that the following Senators have
been duly elected, as follows : Alfred Spates, Allegany county; Henry Snyder, 2nd legis-
lative district of Baltimore city; Daniel Fields, Caroline
county; John M. Miller, Cecil county; Barnes Compton,
Charles county; Daniel M. Henry, Dorchester county; Wm.
B. Stephenson, Harford, county; William O. Sellman, Mont-
gomery county: George W. Wilson, Prince George's county;
G. Fred. Maddox, St. Mary's county; Charles M. Jump,
'Talbot county; William E. Timmons, Worcester county.
All of which is respectfully submitted.
