The title, as amended, was then read and adopted.
The question then recurred upon the engrossment,
On the question being put,
It was determined in the negative.
On motion by Mr. Wilson,

The consideration of the Public School bill was fixed for
to-morrow at one o'clock, and made the order of the day.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 28, of
Article 56, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
licenses to Foreign Insurance Companies, and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

Reported it without amendments.
Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Clarke moved that said bill be read the third time
this day.

The yeas and nays were called as required by section 27,
of Article 3 of the Constitution, and appeared, as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Miller,
Biggs, Parker,
Clarke, Sellman,
Denson, Spates,
Earle, Stephenson,
Fields, Timmons,
Henkle, Welch,

NEGATIVE—None.

So two-thirds of all the Senators election having voted in
the affirmative, said bill was placed upon the third reading.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendment :
Sec. 28, line 3, strike out "three" and insert four.
Which was read and adopted.

The section, as amended, was then read and adopted.
Mr. Miller submitted the following amendment :

Insert in 2nd line of the 1st section, after the word "Laws,"
the words : relating to licenses to foreign Insurance Compa-
