On motion by Mr. Earle,

The vote was reconsidered by which said bill was lost.
On motion by Mr. Malone,

Said bill was made the order of the day for to-morrow at
one o'clock.

Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to create
Banking Institutions, and to enable the several banks in this
State, State and National, to avail of the provisions thereof,
asked to be discharged from the further consideration thereof.

On motion by Mr. Miller,

Said bill was referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion of Mr. Earle,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the Senate
bill entitled an Act to add a new Article to the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws to be entitled "Insurance," providing for
the better regulation of Insurance Companies incorporated by
or doing business in this State, and to repeal chapters 209
and 294 of the Acts passed at January session, 1868.

Said bill being on the second reading.
Mr. Earle submitted the following amendment:

Amend section 1 by striking out after the word "chapter,"
the "No. 209," and insert in lieu thereof, the No. 243.

Which was read and adopted.

The section, as amended, was then read and adopted.
Mr. Earle submitted the following amendment:

Section I, amend by adding after the word "repealed" the
following: and that a new Article entitled "insurance,"
and to bedesignated as Article No. 114, be added to the
Code of Public General Laws, as follows.

Which was read and adopted.
The section, as amended, was then read and adopted.
Mr. Miller submitted the following amendment:

Amend by inserting after the word "Maryland," in the
enacting clause, the following:
