The further consideration of said bill was postponed until
to-morrow at 12 o'clock.

Mr. Clarke, from the Select Committee to whom the leave
was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to prevent the
sale of spirituous liquors within one mile of Warren Factory,
in Baltimore county.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,
The Senate adjourned.

EVENING SESSION.
MONDAY, March 28, 1870, 8 o'clock, P. M.
Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Present at the roll call, the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Browne, Clarke, Denson, Earle, Fields,
Hyland, Jump, Malone, Miller, Sellman, Snyder, Spates,
Stephenson, Timmons, Welch, Wilson—17.

On motion by Mr. Snyder,

The regular order of business was postponed in order to
consider the House bill entitled an Act to repeal, and re-enact
with amendments, sections 12 and 14 of Article 41, of the .
Code of Public General Laws, title "Fish and Fisheries,"
sub-title "Potomac," and to add additional sections thereto
for the further protection of fish, and regulation of the shad
and herring fisheries in said river.

Said bill being on the third reading,
Mr. Compton submitted the following amendment :

Amend sub-section 3 by striking out the word "five"
where it occurs in line 8, and substituting therefor the word
one.

Which was read and adopted.
The section, as amended, was then read and adopted.

Said bill was then read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays, as follows :
