to extend the charter of the same as amended.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the National Bank of
Frostburg,

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate Towsontown, in Bal-
timore county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Blake, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably a bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and

City Council of Baltimore to endorse the mortgage bonds of
the Western Maryiand Railroad Company to the amount of
fourteen hundred thousand dollars, as provided by an ordi-
nance of the said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, en-
titled an ordinance to authorize the endorsement or guaran-
tee by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore of the mort-
gage bonds of the Western Maryland Railroad Company,
and to provide a sinking fund in connection therewith, ap-
proved January 26, 1870.

Which was|read a first time.

Mr. Dennis, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably a bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to
appoint an additional Justice of the Peace for election dis-
trict No. 1, in Worcester county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Caroline, Chairman of a Select Com-
mittee, reported favorably a bill entitled an Act to repeal

section 19, of Article 6, title "Caroline county," sub-title

"Elections" of the Code of Public Local Laws, and to enact
the following section in lieu thereof.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Bitter, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported the
bill entitled a Supplement to an Act entiiled an Act to create

and incorporate the Monocacy and Montgomery Turnpike
Company ; with proposed amendment, being a substitute for
said bill.
The amendment was adopted,

And the bill as amended read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.
