Maryland Eye Infirmary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Snyder,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize and re-
quire the Commissioners of Baltimore county to levy a sum
of money for the payment to the National Union Bank of
Maryland, at Baltimore, of the balance of a debt due the said
bank, contracted by the Commissioners of Public Free Schools
in the first election district of Baltimore county, under the
Act of 1832, chapter 287.

On motion by Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to repeal section 7, of Article 83, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Sales and Notices,"
and. to re-enact the same in an amended, form.

On motion by Mr, Hyland,

Leave of absence was granted to the Senator from Calvert
county, until Monday next.

On motion by Mr. Timmons.

Leave was granted to the Senators from Worcester, Cecil
and Howard counties to introduce a bill to exempt the waters
of Synapuxent bay, in Worcester county, from any tax on
oyster boats, under Custom House tonnage.

On motion by Mr. Kimmel,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore city to
introduce a bill to authorize the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore to submit the question of endorsing the bonds of
the Maryland Central Railroad Company, to the amount of
$600,000, to a vote of the people of Baltimore city.

On motion by Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to intro-
duce a bill to reduce the number of free scholarships in the
Baltimore Female College, and provide for the board as well
as tuition of the beneficiaries.

On motion by Mr. Malone,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Salisbury Gas Light Com-
pany.

Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to in-
corporate the Salisbury Gas Light Company.
