TUESDAY, March 22,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Father Freitag.
Present at roll call, the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Biggs, Browne, Carroll, Clarke, Den-
son, Earle, Grove, Henkle, Henry, Hyland, Jump, Kimmel,
Malone, Miller, Parker, Sellman, Snyder, Spates, Stephenson,
Timmons, Welch, Wilson—23.

The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Miller presented the petition of George R. Howard
and 48 other citizens of Cecil county, asking the passage of
a law to prohibit non-residents from fishing in the waters of
the Chesapeake Bay audits Tributaries above Pool's Island.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Sayder presented the petition of Maria, S. Harrison,
widow of Nathan Harrison, late of the City of Baltimore,
deceased, a soldier of the war of 1812, praying for a pen-
sion.

Mr. Wilson presented the petition of Rachael Tuck, of
Annapolis, Mary Bradley and Esther Gray, of Prince George's
county, asking for a pension.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Militia.

Mr. Wilson presented the petition of John H. Selby and
43 other citizens of Prince George's county, praying the pass-
age of a law requiring the Clerks of the Circuit Courts,
Registers of Wills and States Attornies in cases of a resigna-
tion of their respective offices to give at least two weeks
public notice of said intention.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Jump, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that if the
Senator from Talbot had been in Annapolis at the time the
vote was taken on the unfavorable report of the Finance
Committee on the House resolutions, appointing persons to
adjust and settle the claims against the Baltimore and Ohio
