Carroll, Queen Anne's and Worcester counties to cases of as-
sault and battery.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Dorchester, Kent, Caroline, Calvert, Carroll, Queen
Anne's and Worcester counties.

And returned the Senate bill entitled an Act to amend an
Act to incorporate the Emmittsburg Railroad Company.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."
On motion by Mr. Hyland, it was

Ordered, That the Comptroller report to the Senate at an
early day as possible the amount of money appropriated for
the use and benefit of the Maryland Agricultural College.
Also, the cause of the retention by the Comptroller of ten
per cent. out of the fund arising from the sale of the public
lands donated to the States by the United States for educa-
tional purposes.

The House bill entitled an Act to aid and assist the Fire
Department of Hagerstown,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Biggs, Kimmel,
Browne, Parker,
Carroll, Sellman,
Denson, Snyder,
Earle, Spates,
Henry, Stephenson,
Hyland, Timmons—15.

NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Leave of absence was granted to Jas. T. Blackiston, Ser-
geant-at-Arms, until next Monday.

The House bill entitled an Act to amend Article 46 of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Inebriates," by adding
thereto the following sections,

Was considered and postponed until March, 23rd instant.

The House bill entitled an Act to continue in force an Act
entitled an Act to regulate and make uniform the fees of Con-
stables, passed, at the January session, 1865, chapter 7,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
