490 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 21,

MONDAY, March 21,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Henderson.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. Biggs, Browne, Denson, Grove, Henkle, Henry,
Hyland, Kimmel, Parker, Snyder, Spates, Timmons—12.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,

The Senate was called and the Sergeant-at-Arms directed
to wait upon absent Senators and inform them that their at-
tendance was required in the Senate Chamber.

The Sergeant-at-Arms returned to the Senate Chamber,
and informed the Senate that he had notified all the Senators-
in the city that could be found.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,
The Senate adjourned.

EVENING SESSION.

MARCH 21, 1870, 8 o'clock, P. M.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. Biggs, Browne, Carroll, Clarke, Denson, Earle,
Grove, Henry, Hyland, Jump, Kimmel, Parker, Sellman,
Snyder, Stephenson, Timmons—1.6.

The Journal of Saturday was read and approved.

Mr. Denson presented the petition of Dr. S. B. Martin,
of Baltimore city, asking for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Militia,

 
 
On motion by Mr. Parker, it was

Ordered, That the Committee on Federal Relations be,
and they are hereby instructed to inquire into the expediency
of authorizing the Governor to appoint a Commissioner to
